MOUNT VERNON, WA – A motorcycle driver was killed in a fiery crash near West Big Lake Blvd on State Route 9 after slamming into a tree.
Emergency crews responded to the scene around 10:05 after receiving reports of a fire and crash.
The cyclist died at the scene. He has yet to be identified.
Investigators say the motorcyclist veered off northbound SR-9 and into the tree. The highway was closed for the investigation but is now open.
