Female pedestrian killed in North Seattle crash

SEATTLE, WA – A woman was struck and killed while attempting to cross the street north of downtown Seattle Wednesday evening.

According to KIRO, the incident occurred shortly before 6 a.m. on Aurora Avenue North at the intersection with North 137th Street.

Police at the scene say the 58-year-old woman stepped out into the street when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures for the woman but were unsuccessful and she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene to render assistance and did not appear to be impaired at the time of the crash.
