News: Seattle police officer struck by hit-and-run driver

SEATTLE, WA – A police officer was struck and injured while responding to a hit-and-run collision on Thursday morning.

Seattle Police Department posted on Twitter the accident occurred in the 4800 block of S Myrtle Street around 9:44 a.m.

Police were responding to a hit-and-run collision when an officer was struck by the fleeing driver. The injured officer was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing. Seattle Police Department also posted that they are still searching for the hit-and-run driver.
